Fruit and Flowers Festival

Ambato city is a magical place, known as the Garden of Ecuador. After an early morning breakfast at the hotel the group will meet the guide to depart for a two-hour drive to this land of flowers and fruits.

This festival is celebrated during two entire weeks in February or March.
The whole city comes to live with parades, pyrotechnic displays, exhibitions and copious amounts of peach-flavored wine.

During the parade, there is an immense offer of fruits: you can taste sichs, mangoes, passion fruit, figs, pears, apples, plums, and many more. On the other side, there is a great display of beautiful flowers, the most stunning and unique roses that grow within this area! All this goes along with the very popular beauty pageant where local girls compete for the title of Queen of the city of Ambato. All the floats of the parade are decorated in the most extravagant unique designs, using the same sorts of fruits and flowers that are presented to its viewers along the way. Between the floats of the parade, there are troops of dancers from all over South America displaying their regional dances in a swirl of bright colors. 

At the end of the day after experiencing a bit of this amazing parade the group's journey will finish with a lovely lunch at a local restaurant and after that their return to Quito.
